Patient Excitotoxins

This post (incomplete-to be updated) serves as a reminder for family meal planning, Patient supplement, environmental and diet NO-NOs:

Dopamine boosters

L-Theanine, Green Tea

Nicotine

_________BAD__________________________
Glutamate boosters

MSG - monosodium L-glutamate, (Seen as ingredient NATURAL FLAVORS in processed foods) Hydrolyzed Protein Sodium Caseinate or Calcium Caseinate, Autolyzed Yeast or Yeast Extract, Gelatin, Hydrolyzed Oat Flour

aspartame (nutrasweet),
candy, glutamic acid, glutamine, aspartate, and cysteine.
Mercury and aluminum trigger glutamate release.

hypoglycemia, or low calorie/starvation conditions stimulate release of glutamate and reduce the ability to remove excess levels of glutamate from the brain. Excess glutamate reduces glutathione levels - antioxidants found in the body which protect neurons from damage. Reduced Glutatione leads to the death of additional neurons.

I have been intrigued by your blog, as I am attempting much the same protocols on a person under my care. One thing I would suggest you try is folic acid, it worked wonders for resolving paranoia and violent mood swings.

Give the patient one tablet (1 mg dose) and observe the reactions for the next few hours. If you notice any change at all he is probably deficient and could benefit from this protocol. Start in the morning and be prepared for fireworks just in case. Administer one tablet every three hours. What happened when I did this was she started by getting griefy, and at first I thought it was making her more agitated. Within a few hours she was fearful. Another hour or two later she got very angry, started throwing things and had to be confined to a safer location. Shortly afterward her mood leveled out and she became reasonable, amenable. The important thing is to continue to administer the folic acid every 3 hours no matter what happens. Once you have made it through this far, it is smooth sailing, but you need to continue to administer the folic acid every three hours or they will descend into the negative emotions again. Every morning give him one just as soon as he wakes up, so he doesn't have time to dream up paranoid thoughts that you must then overcome. After a week or so on folic acid (FA) alone, you can try add 500 mg trimethylglycine (TMG) also. It boosts the effectiveness of the folic acid. Don't try it right away, as you may get too much fireworks.

Do not discontinue the protocol or get lax with the schedule, or you will get withdrawal symptoms and the paranoia and violent emotions will return. After the patient has been on this strict schedule for three weeks or so, you will find that a new stability will emerge, because their body will have built up some reserves. Don't discontinue the protocol, but if you happen to be late by an hour they won't rip your head off.

The full protocol I use is 1 mg FA with 500 mg TMG every 3 hours, plus coenzyme Q10 60 mg every 8-9 hours. This protocol is far more effective for managing paranoia and violent mood swings than anything I've ever seen.
